Squared off, long hood, small grille and headlights. That was the way to go.
Awful. Did the designer know that pop up headlights were outlawed by pedestrian impact legislation the world over?

Yes like all M Performance models. Details finished in Cerium Grey.

I'm guessing they wanted to show exactly how it will look on the road.
I guess, but where I live there's no front plate issued.
Damn that must be nice, I hate front plates :
I run no plates at all.

Steve Jobs style.

You don't have to wait: Auto Bild Sports Cars have it pretty much spot on with their render ;-)

IMO, the best looking BMW for a long while....

It will be a problem if M8 GTE still performs like SPA in Le Mans.

That would've been truly awesome. But they can still make an amazing performance car with front engine, look at the vette, amg gt, gt-r nismo, camaro zl1, gt350 are all excellent handling cars. If they use a transaxle for the M8 (which was quoted) and use CF to keep weight modest with that engine, and awd system they have, it can be a beast of a car. Auto sport just ran the M5 at the ring and was nearly the fastest sedan ever, only behind the porsche panmera by less than a second, who used a factory driver!! If they cut 250-300 lbs should be a very solid performer.

In Germany it is obligatory to show the licence plate in media. Also it is good for Munich to show its birth place.
Good to know!

Corvette is going to be mid engine very soon for obvious reasons.

Really not impressed. Looks like an X-Large M4. Would have been nice to see design cues that paid homage to the classic such as hide-away headlights.

True but there is no proof it’ll be only mid engine. I’m sure the biggest reason is because without AWD the higher HP variants have issues putting down that much power and torque.

Now the BMW M8 GTE has proper kidney grills. This is how they should be executed! Not the new "butterfly" design.

The BMW M8 GTE looks beautiful and yet still bad ass.

Maybe they will put eDrive on the front axle like the NSX has.

100% certainty the next Corvette is Mid-engine...

There have been CAD drawing leaks like with the M5...

Very possible, rumor is that'll come on a car making a combined 1000 hp.

Nothing is certain, a CAD drawing does not mean the entire lineup will be ME!! They've been claiming ME vette for years and I follow Corvette and lips are pretty sealed on this. At minimum the FE will be sold alongside for a couple years. Them doing it is different then everyone else though, they sell more sports cars than porsche cayman, boxter and 911 combined! For BMW to do it, they likely charge 225K min. I'm just making the point FE cars can still be awesome performance cars.

BMW M could easily take the i8 and slap the M8 drivetrain in it and they'd have a major winner.

I’ll take the white one minus the stickers, thanks!

The car looks promising but I would have liked the final product to have more of the striking details of the concept make it to production.

There should be more visual drama like the race car or concept making it to production in this product.

Also have you noticed is Paul’s render, the bonnet length and height seem grow from the concept to the production car?

I really hope it's AMG-GT beater, but I'm afraid I can't stop thinking that, it's going to be a heavy comfortable High speed Cruiser, like original was, but with better handling, I really hope I'm wrong and M8 will destroy opposition like they used to before...
