Wheels are an accessory.

Wheels don't make the entire car look bad any more than a bangle on a supermodel's wrist would make the supermodel look bad or a tie on a guy would make a man look bad.

If one saw an ugly tie on an otherwise handsome man one would say " ugly tie " .. not "ugly man".

Restomod

I recently did this virtual "restomod" of the 850 by subtly widening the F/R body & tracks, adding modern door handles, a front spoiler and side skirts and modern wheels... I think this car still looks amazing today... The only thing that has aged in the design are the rear lights...

I still remember my first time seeing the beautiful black machine. Took my breath away. Still have a major soft spot for that car, especially the unicorn 850csi with the manual trans.
The real unicorn is the M8, which unfortunately was never produced...

Apart from it's model designation and cylinder count, the S70 has little to noting to do with the McLaren F1 engine.

That is basically 2 EU S50B30 sharing a crank.

I've been following his channel since the very beginning and for the most part I find him to be pretty fair.

His Acura NSX "review" though? Definitely paid for by Honda.

Whether or not you like Doug's videos, there is no denying the appeal of the 850 CSi. I would love to own one. Of course, I have an affinity for MT-only cars.

I bought mine because it was an affordable V12 6MT car that I always thought was beautiful and had admired since I was about 8.

I have no idea why the upper of the back seats fold down... a truly strange decision.

This was at the time my dream car, i had a poster too like previous commenter; i wish that the i8 took on some boxy elements of the 850, or design cues from the narrow tail lights on newer builds

Car is great. Don't like Doug's reviews or his articles. This is a man who once wrote an article about the pitfalls of buying a R32 vs a Scion FR-S....he also wrote a whole article about taking his R32 in to carmax to get it appraised expecting the people at carmax to fangirl out and give him JDM tyte props....he didn't get his reactions. Just a dude who wants attention and it occasionally shows in the topics he chooses to write about.

This makes you wonder what cars will be like in 20 years.

Go sit in one. Guaranteed your family will be looking for you after you spend hours relaxing in a 30+ way adjustable seat, that makes you feel like a newborn baby. Your family will find you in the fetal position, sucking your thumb. Hyperbolic yes, but you get the picture.
The new Navigator is what Lincoln and Cadillac should have been producing, because they can do this type of luxury (American) better then the Germans can.

Reminds me, isn't there a Japanese car enthusiast who had BMW make him a special M7? I wonder for the right amount of money, would BMW make a clone of the M8 for you? Non-road legal, of course.

If the Pontiac Aztec had 50-way seats, would you buy one?

Sure.. to blow up . I promised my son one for his first car.... we searched the "Top ten ugliest cars in the world" - not one good angle, and there are plenty of angles!

Of course not. Unless it would be to make it the ugliest off roader in the world. The Navigator and Aztec have less in common than the Aztec and X6 do. Just look at the back ends of both.
Seriously, that Navigator's interior is impressive, and has impressed a lot of YouTube vloggers like Salomondrin, whose used to Rolls interiors. Even the people sitting in the third row are coddled. The outside looks like an evolution of the outgoing Navigator. There are people who don't like the wheels, though.
