V12 Option?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I've read conflicting information on the availability of a V12 option - but I sure do hope that BMW plans to have an 860 with a potent V12!

... and while I'm dreaming about that, I might as well add that making it naturally aspirated and high revving would be perfect! Alas, I know if they do, it'll likely be the unit right out of the M760... which would be OK with me, I guess.

I doubt it as there will be a M8; unlike the 7 series which the M760 is the top dog. The weight of the V12 makes it prohibited, as the S63tu4 from the new F90 will probably be used. Just my opinion.

I believe there will be a V12 model but it will be limited production. As in they won't build that many.

The E31 8 Series had V12 and added a V8 later (1994MY), and there may be three engines on offer in the North American market, 640, 650 and 660.

I believe a V12 option is likely if an M8 CS/CSL is released (as SCOTT mentioned months ago as being a possibility). As far as weight, some quick searching lists the S63 at around 229kg and the N74 (6.6l version) as being 240kg; basically M could make it work if they really wanted to.
