So, my Alexa problem had gotten even worse, and I noticed the bluetooth connection to my phone stopped entirely. So I thought to figure out how to reset the idrive system, set up phone as as new connection, and everything seems to be working properly again. If this doesnt work , Ive learned its possible to factory reset the system.
If I dont respond back to this thread assume that it permanently remedied my situation. Resetting the Idrive is performed by holding in the power button a full 30 seconds.
